Capitalism and Freedom by Milton Friedman
Milton Friedman is probably the greatest economist to ever live, and his ideas are made accessible in this slim, easy-to-read volume. He tackles each of twelve areas (currency, discrimination, welfare) with clear prose and an even hand. The fact that the ideas presented in this work are still current today (over four decades after its original writing) is proof of Friedman's genuis.
